Former Redskins CB Vincent becomes an NFL vice president

The NFL made announcement Thursday that former Washington Redskins cornerback Troy Vincent has been named to be the league’s vice president of player development for active players. Vincent will take his job on February 22.

Vincent was a five-time Pro Bowler and used to play in NFL jerseys for several different teams, including the Miami Dolphins, the Philadelphia Eagles, the Buffalo Bills and the Redskins. And it is not the first time he joined the league office as he was president of the NFL Players Association for four years until March 2008.

Vincent’s new job is to oversee a broad array of support programs for players and their families, including the Rookie Symposium, Conduct Management Program and LifeSkills as well as work on new programs that will address the needs and concerns of incoming and current NFL players.
