Larry Johnson weighs 10 pounds less than last year

Last season the Chiefs RB Larry Johnson weighed about 230 pounds, but according to reports by USA Today, he has shed as much as 10 pounds by so far. The team may begin considering to make smaller football jersey for him.

John will probably get a little extra speed by losing weight and this will help him get more playing time on the field in third-down situation. He has to do so because the Chiefs may retain some aspects of the spread attack they used last season under under offensive coordinator Chan Gailey. That system surely requires RB to be smaller, faster and catch pass better. There is already such a RB in the team-Jamaal Charles, who is believed to be a better pass-catcher than Johnson. Witout getting more speed by losing weight, Johnson will have to see Charles steal lots of playing time this season.

Beside losing weight, Johnson also plans to work harder during training camp to get more improvement.
